B9 Creator™ (and similar setups) resins tested and available!

To all the owners of Michael Joyce’s B9 Creator™, you will be pleased to learn that we have been testing our resins with this device in order to be able to deliver a custom version for this device.

In a way, the B9 Creator™ is based on principles, as far as resins concern, within a well defined set of parameters, making it a product with many applications. We will start to provide our resins with this formulation, which we think will become a de-facto standard for many DLP Projectors, visible or UV Lasers, light-sources and LED devices, that use the properties of PDMS or Fluorinated films as detachment systems.

Initially, we will deliver our Spot-GP, Spot-HT, Spot-HH, Spot-E and the new Spot-LV resins in this standard formulation, which will be available in opaque yellow, red and soon black color. All other pigments will also be available once they have been fine-tuned properly.

Standard versions of transparent colors will also be made available soon, starting with orange, red and black.

Spot-LV, Low Viscosity resin now in beta testing

flowFor all of you looking for a lower viscosity resin that has similar properties to the Spot-GP but with some higher fluidity you will be happy to learn that we are currently shipping our Spot-LV product.

Spot-LV has a currently viscosity around 50mPa*s (cps) in it’s v0.9 version but we are working to lower it a bit more, as well as having two different cure speeds. standard and super-fast.

Spot-IC, investment casting resin under developpment

Many of you are eagerly awaiting our Spot-IC resin to be released. This is our candidate to be used for Investment Casting, where some of it’s feature properties are melting properties and low heat expansion coefficient.

We have a release candidate available now, but our initial tests by alfa testers have shown that it’s reactivity (cure speed) should be improved. Also, it has shown to have to high adhesion, causing it to react with PDMS, which is undesirable for B9 Creator and similar types of setups. We also want to increase it’s viscosity a bit as well as reducing the smell.

Release candidates will be made available to a number of users that have requested to be alfa testers.

Keep posted, and please be patient :)

This one has to match a long list of requisites, and as always, we want to hit the nail full-on!
