Usage advice

During our ongoing developments, many tests have been undertaken to validate the usage of our resins on different 3D printers. We would like to share this QA knowledge with our customers by posting the results on our website. Here you will find input having been cleared to be published, as well as being confirmed by multiple testers.

High reactivity resins for versatile setups

  • Inteded for low powered setups (250 or less mW/dm² irradiance or
  • Printers that need very fast cure times
  • Large area printers
  • LED light sources up to 425nm
  • Low powered 405nm Laser sources
  • Typical exposure times: 1-7 seconds per 0.1mm layer

Medium reactivity resins for sensitive PDMS vats
PDMS_vat
  • PDMS non-stick setups
  • High powered printers (DLP UHP projectors with > 2500 ANSI Lumen, irradiance 250 or more mW/dm²)
  • Typical exposure times: 4-20 seconds per 0.1mm layer

illuminaid
  • Off the shelve resins for the illiminaid Litho printer
  • Exposure times for 100um – Spot-GP:
    First layer exposure: 15 sec, 4 base layers
    T-Base: 3 sec
    T-Over: 4 sec
  • Exposure times for 100um – Spot-HT (Blue,Green,White,Black,Yellow):
    First layer exposure: 15 sec, 4 base layers
    T-Base: 3.7 sec
    T-Over: 5 sec
  • Exposure times for 100um – Spot-HT (Clear-transparent):
    First layer exposure: 15 sec, 4 base layers
    T-Base: 1.5 sec
    T-Over: 2 sec

B9 Creator and similar
b9-creator
  • Off the shelve resins for the B9 Creator
  • Depending on your B9 Creator printer, exposure times may vary (see FAQ)
  • Exposure times for 50um, fast printers:
    First layer exposure: 10 sec, 4 base layers
    T-Base: 3 sec
    T-Over: 4 sec
  • Exposure times for 50um, slow printers:
    First layer exposure: 18 sec, 4 base layers
    T-Base: 10 sec
    T-Over: 10 sec
  • Exposure times for 100um, fast printers:
    First layer exposure: 15 sec, 4 base layers
    T-Base: 6 sec
    T-Over: 8 sec
  • Exposure times for 100um, slow printers:
    First layer exposure: 25 sec, 4 base layers
    T-Base: 12 sec
    T-Over: 12 sec

Form1 by Formlabs, or related
form1
  • These resins have been tuned to work with 405nm Laser at 120mW settings
  • On the Form1, use “Black” or “Grey” and “0.05mm” settings
  • Has been tested in clear and yellow colors
  • PDMS coated vats operate nominally at these settings

Compatible resins for professional printers
Perfactory
  • Tested on Perfactory and Aureus with visible light
  • Will also work with UV filter on
  • Tests with 650 to 900mW output power were positive
  • 5-8 seconds exposure time

MiiCraft compatible resins

  • Will work with standard exposure settings
  • Tested with black and red dyes and pigments
  • 9/10 seconds exposure
